Unemployee of the Month – Cameron T. Moore

Check him out on the Table of Truth & on Mookie Creative.

What name do you go by/perform under/etc?
I go by “Cam” or my full name “Cameron T. Moore” now. It used to be “Mookie” which was my dancer and DJ name but I have out grown it. That, and I use it for my design company now, Mookie Creative.

Where do you live? Why?
BROOKLYN!

Why do you make a good unemployee?
Actually, being unemployed has made me busier than having a 9-5. I have creative a.d.d. so I am always doing multiple projects at once in different areas of art: deejaying, designing, dancing, and of lately filming and editing. So, I am probably more productive as an “unemployee” than a employee.

Whats the craziest thing you’ve done for money?
Luckily, I haven’t had to do anything crazy for money, yet. Although, I almost took a job as a webmaster for a porn site…

What was your favorite gig?
Teaching dance (house, b-boying aka breakdancing) is one of my favorite gigs. I like helping the younger dancers demystify the secrets of dance styles. A lot of times it is as simple as breaking down a seemingly complex concept into something easily digestible.

What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about learning. I love absorbing new information in all areas and utilizing it to better myself and those around me.

What are you the best at?
I think my best quality is helping people have a better understanding of art, design, and technology. Each one, teach one.

What are you the worst at?
Remembering to eat! I will be working on something and totally forget the time and think to myself, “I’m hungry. It’s only been…holy crap 10 hour since I last ate!”

What are 3-5 things you can’t live without?
The Internet, red vines, music, scotch & whiskey, and family.

What city/place in the world would you live in (at least part time)?
London, I lived there for a half a year and it would be cool to go back and or split time between the states.

How does music effect your life?
As cliche as it sounds, music is the soundtrack to my life. There’s a song for every girlfriend break up, job loss, job gain, major announcement, life change, subway ride, and as well as walking down the street in Brooklyn. Work music, sleep music, chill music, happy music; I have a soundtrack for it all.

What were you doing at exactly 4:20 (am or pm) yesterday?
I was actually up working on a mix for my podcast because I over slept my nap by about 8 hours and woke up at 3am. Yup, sipping tea and deejaying at 4:20 am in the morning. What else is there to do? Oh, right! lol
