Stranger in Moscow

stranger in moscow

Every artist feels this way and probably over half of their lifetime. Depressed, hopeless, the pressure that comes with staying on top.  Fame of this magnitude must have been so difficult to deal with.

Michael’s song-writing had already become so sad in the mid 90’s.
Stranger in Moscow Lyrics:

I was wandering in the rain
Mask of life, feelin insane
Swift and sudden fall from grace
Sunny days seem far away
Kremlins shadow belittlin me
Stalins tomb wont let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish the rain would just let me

How does it feel (how does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When youre alone
And youre cold inside

Here abandoned in my fame
Armageddon of the brain
Kgb was doggin me
Take my name and just let me be
Then a begger boy called my name
Happy days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came
And again, and again, and again…
Take my name and just let me be

How does it feel (how does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (how does it feel now)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When youre alone
And youre cold inside

The video is so beautiful and sad too…

Rest in Peace Michael

It’s the end of an era. Will there ever be another MJ? Afterall its very possible he was an alien from another gallaxy. He started his career at 5, was the first black artist to crossover to the mainstream, made videos that were short films, owned the Beatles catalog, thought he was Peter Pan, had three white children, moon walked, collected the majority of the royalties for his songs, wrote and performed songs that are still totally infectious today and probably will be 100 years from now. Any good DJ knows if your crowd is not feeling it, just drop Billy Jean and its on.

This is a great quote:

Smokey Robinson recalled Jackson was “a strange and lovely child an old soul in the body of a boy. He was driven, determined, intense”.

Stumble Audio

Stumble Audio is a cool site that is affiliated with payplay.fm similar to last fm, in that the artist receives royalties for plays via the web.

It’s really amazing how many music sites pop up out of nowhere that are dedicated to discovering new music. Green Streets also got filed under downtempo which is interesting!

HandinHand Green Streets in Freeplay Music Library

Freeplay music has put out a volume of our music with great descriptions (such as “impassioned” “exotic”, “simmering and edgy”, and “reflective”).  Much better then just “deep”!

Music to ride to!

Some cool folks out in Austria use our music in their snowboarding videos. Definitely cool by us, as we are riders/fans!!
